Song of the Day: "You Always Hurt the One You Love"

Welcome to the song of the day, where we feature a single track, whether its brand new or older than us, overlooked or overplayed, our favorite or no one’s favorite; as long as its interesting, it can be the song of the day.

Happy Ides of March! In 2011, George Clooney wrote and directed a movies called The Ides of March starring Ryan Gosling. Now, unfortunately, Gosling doesn’t sing in that movie. He does sing in Blue Valentine, though, which came out the year before. The movie was written and directed by Derek Cianfrance and Gosling stars alongside Michelle Williams.

Here he is ‘singing goofy’ to “You Always Hurt the One You Love” even though we know he can actually sing not-goofy.

The song was written by Doris Fisher with lyrics by Allan Roberts and has been performed by a number of artists over the years since 1944, including the Mills Brothers, Fats Domino, Paul Anka, and Michael Buble.
