- NPR’s First Listen currently has the newest album of Americana singer-songwriter Erin Rae. Born Erin Rae McKaskle, the Tennesseean first released an album, Soon Enough, in 2015 under the name Erin Rae and the Meanwhiles. Her second album, Putting On Airs, is out June 8.
- Dan Layus, formerly of Augustana, recently tweeted this picture in the studio, saying that new music is coming soon. Though he was the only remaining member of Augustana for their last release, Life Imitating Life, in 2014, Layus released his latest album, Dangerous Things, under his own name. It remains to be seen what this next one will be.

- Things with Kim Petras are getting a little bit complicated. Petras is a trans pop star from Germany who makes catchy music and has minimal interest in making things political, which is her absolute right. But she’s been working with Dr. Luke for her upcoming debut album, and of Dr. Luke’s ongoing legal battles with Kesha, Petras had this to say: “I would like my fans to know that I wouldn’t work with somebody I believe to be an abuser of women, definitely not.” She’s about to go on tour opening for Troye Sivan, and Sivan tweeted a response:

- Check out “You Don’t Need” from Body/Head’s new album, The Switch, out July 13. The album will be the second release by the band of Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and Bill Nace. They first released Coming Apart in 2013.
