Swedish singer Lykke Li released her first album, Youth Novels, in 2008, but she didn’t break through in the US until the release of her second album, Wounded Rhymes, in 2011, with huge success for the album’s second single, “I Follow Rivers.” Five songs of the album’s ten were released as singles prior to today: “Deep End” and “Hard Rain” accompanied the album announcement, “Utopia,” and then “Sex Money Feelings Die” and “Two Nights” last week.
“Two Nights” features a verse by American rapper Aminé. The songs were individually produced by different people, but those different people feature a wide range of popular music’s best, including Rostam Batmanglij, Jeff Bhasker, Emile Haynie, and Jonny Coffer.
Lykke Li will be at Union Transfer in Philadelphia on October 8. Tickets for the North American leg of her tour go on sale a week from today, 6/15.
