Janelle Monae's new song, Cardi B on Fallon, and more

Here’s the latest in music news:

  • Cardi B has been all over the late night comedy world. On Saturday she revealed her pregnancy on SNL, then last night she became the first ever ‘co-host’ of The Tonight Show. This one is my favorite clip because watching her and John Mulaney interact is just so fantastic:

  • NPR ran their 100 greatest albums made by women a while ago, but since then, they’ve been running a poll for their readers to pick their own. Now, here are the readers top 150. Joni Mitchell, Carole King (pictured above), and Lauryn Hill are at the top, which is unsurprising, but the entire list is filled with some really interesting and great albums.

  • “Pynk” is the third song we’ve heard prior to the April 27 release of Janelle Monae’s Dirty Computer, her third full-length album and first since The Electric Lady in 2013.
  • The AV Club took a dive into trying to answer this question from BBC Radio 6: What’s the strongest three run song on an album? Some of my favorites unmentioned: the last three songs on Automatic For the People by REM, any three songs on Springsteen’s Born to Run, and the first three songs on Dire Straits’ Making Movies.
