Song of the Day: "Taxman" by The Beatles

Welcome to the song of the day, where we feature a single track, whether its brand new or older than us, overlooked or overplayed, our favorite or no one’s favorite; as long as its interesting, it can be the song of the day.

It’s not tax day yet, but it’s close. I tried (and failed) to do my taxes today, so today’s song is “Taxman” by The Beatles. The song, written by George Harrison, opens up 1966’s Revolver. Although the band was deep into their relatively short tenure, “Taxman” was early in George’s career as a songwriter, just his sixth composition to appear on an album.
