Here’s Friday’s latest music news:
- The new Florence + The Machine song, “Sky Full of Song,” was released yesterday, and will be released physically on Record Store Day on April 21:
- You can pre-order the new L7 album right now at PledgeMusic. It doesn’t have a name listed, but there’s a ton of exclusives and bundles available. The band, who released six albums between 1988 and 1999, returned from a 15 year hiatus in 2017 with two new songs. They’re playing the Trocadero tonight in Philadelphia.
- The Old 97s County Fair is something I’ve wanted to go to since they started it, but it’s all the way in Dallas. In addition to the great lineups, which this year features Lord Huron, Valerie June, and The Bottle Rockets, amongst others, includes rides, games, food, and drink. Here’s the full lineup for tomorrow’s festival:
- But a little closer to home, WXPN has announced the daily lineups for their annual XPonential Music Festival. Friday’s headliners are David Byrne and Sylvan Esso, Saturday’s are The War On Drugs (above) and Sturgill Simpson, and it looks like personal favorite Josh Ritter and the Royal City Band will be closing down Wiggins Park on Sunday.
