- Here’s a few of the most noteworthy pieces of music news from the weekend:On the heels of their 2017 album, Wonderful Wonderful, the Killers have announced a career-spanning vinyl box set, which features their five studio albums, the b-side/cover/outtake collection Sawdust, a live album, and a turntable slip mat. There are two different editions of the set, with the only discernible difference being the color of the records and $70.
- NPR’s First Listen has a few interesting albums up for streaming pre-release right now, including Lavender by Half Waif, a project led by Pinegrove member Nandi Rose Plunkett; Okkervil River’s ninth album, In the Rainbow Rain; and the third album by Massachusetts indie rock band Speedy Ortiz, Twerp Verse.
- Stephen Stills organized a show where he, Patti Smith (above), Beck, Neil Young, Cheryl Crow, Judy Collins, and Burt Bacharach played with The Heartbreakers, in their first return to the stage since Tom Petty’s death last October. Pitchfork has a roundup of the videos of the performances.
- Shania Twain, promoting her first album in 15 years, Now, first told the Guardian that she probably would have voted for Donald Trump, but has since backpedaled quite a bit.
