- Swedish pop star Robyn gave some details on her new album at the Red Bull Music Festival in New York last night. According to Stereogum, she lists ’90s house music, club music, Michael and Janet Jackson, and Prince as influences on her first album since 2010’s Body Talk.
- Steven Hyden and guest Ian Cohen discussed some new albums on Hyden’s Celebration Rock Podcast, including albums by Courtney Barnett, the Arctic Monkeys, and Beach House.
- Stephen Malkmus was the guest DJ on All Songs Considered today and brought with him a list of songs ranging from Queen to Sweet to Samiyam to Frankie Valli. Malkmus, the former frontman of Pavement, just recently released his seventh album, Sparkle Hard, with The Jicks.
- Ariana Grande, whose newest album, Sweetener, comes out this summer, tweeted about the one year anniversary of the Manchester bombing, when a suicide bomber took 22 lives during one of her concerts in the English city. Last week, Grande spoke with Time magazine about her upcoming album and revealed how the event informed the new music, including the title.
