- Neko Case has returned with her first completely solo music since 2013. The album, Hell-On, will be released officially a week from tomorrow, but is streaming right now on NPR’s First Listen. Case was on Whiteout Conditions, the New Pornographers’ latest album in 2017, and a collaborative album with Laura Veirs and k.d. lang called Case/lang/veirs in 2016.
- Brian Fallon ranked his band’s five albums for Noisey’s “Rank Your Records.” I more or less agree with the top spot and the bottom spot and vary slightly on the middle three.
- This live EP collecting songs that were cut from the Live 1975-1985 Bruce Springsteen compilation was originally released in Japan in 1986 and was unavailable digitally until now.
- Indiana band Houndmouth announced their new album today, Golden Age, to be released August 3. The first single, “This Party,” has already been released.
