Philadelphia band Hop Along’s third album Bark Your Head Off, Dog follow’s Painted Shut in 2015 and Get Disowned in 2012. The album has nine tracks, including singles “How Simple,” “Not Abel,” and “Prior Things.”
Frances Quinlan and the band begin their support of the album with a hometown show tomorrow night at Johnny Brenda’s, with fellow Philadelphian Lucy Stone opening up.
Bark Your Head Off, Dog “addresses disappointment, particularly in man’s misuse of power, and relates accounts from the periphery — one’s attempts to retreat from the lengthening shadows of tyrants, both historical and everyday. It considers what it’s like to cast off longheld and misguided perceptions, yet without the assurance of knowing what new ones will replace them.”
