Olivia Hally and Pepita Emmerichs have released their second album as Australian indie-pop band Oh Pep!, I Wasn’t Only Thinking About You… The duo’s first album, Stadium Cake, was released in 2016 after they impressed Billy Bragg playing various contests and festivals. Their sophomore album, led by singles “What’s the Deal With David?” and “Hurt Nobody”, was produced by Joel Quartermaine in their hometown of Melbourne.
At certain points in the last eight years, Swedish pop star Robyn thought she might never release any music again, but here we are, with her eighth (depending on how you count) studio album, Honey. Born Robin Carlsson, Robyn broke through in North America with 2010’s Body Talk, which consisted of two EP-sized albums and a third compiling songs from the first two. Honey was recorded in various cities around the world, including London, Paris, New York, and Stockholm, and different songs were individually produced by Joseph Mount, Klas Åhlund, Adam Bainbridge, Mr. Tophat, and Robyn herself.
Robyn will be playing some sort of a ‘secret gig’ debuting the songs form the album live.
Australian rock band Gang of Youths has been steadily growing their audience in North America thanks to their anthemic second album, Go Farther In Lightness, and their electric live shows, one of which has now been captured by MTV’s Unplugged. Gang of Youths’ MTV Unplugged (Live In Melbourne) has been out for a while down under, but comes to the US today. The album features songs from their aforementioned 2017 release and one from their 2016 EP, Let Me Be Clear.
Longtime friends and fixtures of the Nashville music scene, Jill Andrews and Peter Groenwald have released their self-titled debut album as a duo under the moniker Hush Kids. Ian Fitchuk, who just this year has produced or worked on great country albums by Kacey Musgraves, Ruston Kelly, and Caitlyn Smith, co-wrote and produced the album.
The duo has yet to announce a tour schedule in support of Hush Kids.
