This week's featured album: Tearing at the Seams by Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats

This week’s featured new album comes from Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats. Rateliff broke through with his last album, a self-titled 11 track LP with the hit single “SOB,” though the Americana artist has released three other albums, including two as a solo artist and one under the name Nathaniel Rateliff and the Wheel.

Tearing at the Seams was lead by “You Worry Me” and two subsequent single releases, “Hey Mama” and “Coolin’ Out,” the latter with vocals from sister duo Lucius.

The band’s tour will be in Europe through April, will make a stop in Philadelphia at The Mann on June 6, and is currently scheduled to conclude in Denver in November.

Rolling Stone called Tearing at the Seams a doubling down on the roadhouse retro the band broke through with in 2016, with nods to Leonard Cohen and Sam Cooke.  Q Magazine said it accurately captures the band’s live atmosphere.

Other albums in stores today that we’re listening to:
Albert Hammond, Jr. – Francis Trouble
David Byrne – American Utopia
Editors – Violence
Of Montreal – White is Relic/Irrealis Mood
