Arctic Monkeys new concept album, Peter Buck's new project, and more

Here’s Wednesdays music news, after the jump:

 

  • NPR’s Tiny Desk hosted Tyler Childers of Kentucky, whose 2017 album Purgatory was produced by Sturgill Simpson. He played two songs that are not on either of his first two albums or any EP releases to this date, “Nose on the Grindstone” and “22nd Winter” as well as the closer from his most recent, “Lady May.”

 

  • There’s a lot of mystery surrounding the new Arctic Monkeys album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. According to this tweet, though, it’s a concept album of pure fun, rock ‘n’ roll:

  • “I Am The Moment” is the new song from a collaboration between Joseph Arthur and Peter Buck of REM. The project is called Arthur Buck, as is the album, out June 15.
  • The first song and second single, “How Simple,” from Philadelphia indie band Hop Along’s recent third album, Bark Your Head Off, Dog, has just gotten a new music video:
