Here’s what’s new from the weekend around the music world:
- Texas band Wilderado have released two EPs and a ton of single songs, and just recently they released another song, “You Don’t Love Me,” and have a new EP, titled Favors, out May 25.
- Nashville-based singer-songwriter Brent Cobb’s third album, Providence Canyon, is officially out this Friday, but hit NPR’s First Listen today. The album, as was his last, Shine On Rainy Day, is produced by his cousin, Dave Cobb, who is basically the best producer in Nashville right now, having made records with Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Sturgill Simpson, Colter Wall, John Prine, and on and on.
- Modern day Renaissance man Donald Glover slash Childish Gambino hosted SNL this week, incorporating his musical talents into a number of sketches, including a monologue that mocked his many talents. Here’s a playlist of all the sketches he was in:

- The Arctic Monkeys are coming back in a big way with their newest album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. The latest announcement is a series of pop-up stores in a few major cities that will be selling “unique and limited” merchandise this coming weekend, in conjunction with the album’s May 11 release. There will not be a store in Philly, but there will be one open in New York Friday night and all of Saturday.
- Chorus.fm posted a list of 50 artists you need to hear in 2018, featuring some of our favorites like Courtney Marie Andrews, Soccer Mommy, Ruston Kelly, Hop Along, and Caitlyn Smith, plus some great new gems like The Longshot, Spielbergs, POP ETC, and Illuminati Hotties.
