Today’s latest news from the music world:
- Shakey Graves released a free track last night via bandcamp that was basically him and Rayland Baxter describing where they were in Austin, guiding listeners along a path. Apparently it was a sort of scavenger hunt thing that leads to more tapes. I don’t think they’ve all been found yet, but it most likely has something to do with his May 4 album, Can’t Wake Up.
- First Listen this week at NPR is Mount Eerie’s Now Only, his ninth album since the dissolution of The Microphones. The album is made up of just six songs of varying lengths, almost all six minutes or longer.
- Want to get locked in a hotel overnight with Bon Iver? There’s two separate dates going on sale to attend this lock-in in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, both going on sale on Wednesday. Both the April 10 and May 9 dates are limited to 30 customers. The $250 stay comes with meals, yoga, and of course, musical performances.
