Bon Iver's hotel lock-in, Shakey Graves' tape quest, and more

Today’s latest news from the music world:

  • Shakey Graves released a free track last night via bandcamp that was basically him and Rayland Baxter describing where they were in Austin, guiding listeners along a path. Apparently it was a sort of scavenger hunt thing that leads to more tapes. I don’t think they’ve all been found yet, but it most likely has something to do with his May 4 album, Can’t Wake Up.

  • Want to get locked in a hotel overnight with Bon Iver? There’s two separate dates going on sale to attend this lock-in in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, both going on sale on Wednesday. Both the April 10 and May 9 dates are limited to 30 customers. The $250 stay comes with meals, yoga, and of course, musical performances.

  • The newest single from The Decemberists’ I’ll Be Your Girl came out today. It’s called “Once In My Life” and it really is a totally new sound for them:
