Butch Walker and Andrew McMahon, new Lucero, and more

  • Memphis alt-country band Lucero has announced their tenth studio album, Among the Ghosts, out August 3. The announcement came with lead single, “For the Lonely Ones.”
  • Butch Walker has officially confirmed that he’s producing Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness’ next album:

  • Death Cab For Cutie’s as-yet-untitled ninth album is expected to be released in August of this year. In a recent interview with Stereogum, frontman Ben Gibbard said “if you liked Narrow Stairs and that Death Cab era, you’ll like the new one.” Narrow Stairs, an album that turned 10 years old two days ago, is one of the band’s best albums, containing standouts like “I Will Possess Your Heart” and “No Sunlight.”

 

  • Darkside Records has pre-order information for the vinyl copy of the album of rare/unreleased Gaslight Anthem [pictured] songs that were recorded during the sessions for The ’59 SoundThe ’59 Sound Sessions features alternate takes on six songs that were ultimately on the album, along with three that were cut.
