Houndmouth announce "Golden Age," Neko Case streaming, and more

  • Neko Case has returned with her first completely solo music since 2013. The album, Hell-On, will be released officially a week from tomorrow, but is streaming right now on NPR’s First Listen. Case was on Whiteout Conditions, the New Pornographers’ latest album in 2017, and a collaborative album with Laura Veirs and k.d. lang called Case/lang/veirs in 2016.

  • Brian Fallon ranked his band’s five albums for Noisey’s “Rank Your Records.” I more or less agree with the top spot and the bottom spot and vary slightly on the middle three.

  • This live EP collecting songs that were cut from the Live 1975-1985 Bruce Springsteen compilation was originally released in Japan in 1986 and was unavailable digitally until now.

  • Indiana band Houndmouth announced their new album today, Golden Age, to be released August 3. The first single, “This Party,” has already been released.

The band has played the title track at a few recent shows, along with a handful of other songs.
