Here’s a few links to some news from around the music industry:
- Jack Antonoff wrote a few songs and curated the soundtrack for the movie Love, Simon. Just yesterday Bleachers released an official video for one of the songs, “Alfie’s Song (Not So Typical Love Song)” featuring Jack trying and failing to film a love scene over and over again. It’s cute and funny:
- “Any day that’s got a whole bunch of people singing ‘Wonderwall’ is a good day.” — Brandon Flowers in this video of the Killers covering “Wonderwall” by Oasis, live at Lollapalooza Chile.
- On the topic of ’90s British rock acts, Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft, of The Verve, have announced a North American tour together. They’ll be in Philadelphia on May 17. Liam is touring on his recent solo album, As You Were, from 2017. Ashcroft’s most recent solo album, These People, came out in 2016.
- I’m still catching up on some of the SXSW coverage. Here’s Rolling Stone’s 30 best artists from this year’s festival. The list features some of our favorites, like Gang of Youths, Japandroids, Courtney Marie Andrews, White Reaper, and Philadelphia’s own Low Cut Connie.
