- Meanwhile, friends and frequent collaborators of Walker, Shovels & Rope also revealed that they are in the studio recording their fifth album. They’ve released one every two years since their official (Shovels & Rope in 2008 pre-dated the creation of the band and was credited to Cary Ann Hearst & Michael Trent) debut album, O’ Be Joyful, in 2012. In my opinion, each of their albums has gotten even better than the last, no matter how impossible that may seem, and their live shows are even better than that. So this is highly anticipated.
- New West Records today announced a deluxe edition of Jason Isbell’s solo debut album, Sirens of the Ditch, with four previously unreleased songs. The album can be pre-ordered through their site, and two of the songs premiered on NPR today.
- English singer-songwriter Jade Bird released a video for her newest song, “Furious,” and announced her first headlining tour, which includes a stop at The Foundry at the end of September.
