Music news for July 24: Sara Bareilles, Old 97’s Christmas album, and more

Apparently Sara Bareilles has a new record. She’s been in the studio in LA and it seems like after a long hiatus, which gave us the wonderful Broadway musical Waitress and the accompanying cast recording and Sara’s own take on the songs, we’re getting an album of new music:

The latest episode of Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett’s country music podcast, “Walking the Floor,” featured Rhett Miller as a guest, where he revealed some news, including the title and release schedule for his newest solo album, The Messenger and October, and that the Old 97’s have a holiday album in the can called Love The Holidays featuring all original Christmas songs.
