New Jason Isbell dates, Kendrick Lamar's Pulitzer, and more

Check out the latest music news for Tuesday, April 17:

  • Kendrick Lamar has won Grammys, ASCAPs, American Music Awards, Kids Choice Awards, and a ton more, and this weekend he added Pulitzer Prize to that list. The organization’s music award was given to Lamar’s 2017 album, DAMN., marking the first time it’s been given to any hip-hop album, and basically any genre of music not jazz or classical.

  • Gang of Four released a new song ahead of their new EP called “Ivanka (Things You Can’t Have).” The EP is called Complicit and features a nice big picture of the president’s daughter on the cover.

  • Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have added a series of new dates to their current tour, though they do not include any stops in Philadelphia. The closest they’ll come is two night in Forest Hills, Queens.

  • Sturgill Simpson and Brandi Carlile (pictured above) joined John Prine on Colbert to play “Summer’s End,” from Prine’s newest album, The Tree of Forgiveness.
