- Wanna hear a song by the kid from Stranger Things? Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, is the lead singer for a band called Calpurnia, and they released their very first song, “City Boy,” today.
- Spotify is going public, but only people who already hold stock in it can buy in? I don’t really understand stocks or companies or money but Rolling Stone collected a lot of different perspectives from around the music industry.
- Today Time Inc. UK announced that the latest print edition of iconic British culture magazine NME would be the last. They will continue on digitally and will be launching two audio channels.
- The official list of releases for this year’s Record Store Day has been announced. Some highlights include the first pressing of Bruce Springsteen’s Greatest Hits, first released in 1995, a Courtney Barnett picture disc, live albums from Jason Isbell, Neil Young, Bleachers, Tim Buckley, Bobbie Gentry, Johnny Cash, and other oddities from Ron Gallo, Blitzen Trapper, Car Seat Headrest, First Aid Kit, Noah Gunderson Fleet Foxes, Fleetwood Mac and more. Record Store Day is on April 21 this year.
