- The situation with Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison took a turn for the worse last night, as police in Scotland have confirmed that his body has been found. In a release, his bandmates, which includes his brother, Neil, said “There are no words to describe the overwhelming sadness and pain that comes with the death of our beloved Scott, but to know he is no longer suffering brings us some comfort.”
- The Arctic Monkeys’ newest album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, is out today, and Pitchfork has an interview with frontman Alex Turner that goes song-by-song through the album.
- Andrew McMahon’s post-Jack’s Mannequin project, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, has put out two albums, and today we’ve got a new song called “Ohio.” On YouTube, McMahon said “‘Ohio’ is about my families pilgrimage from a small town in Ohio to the coast of California. I call it a pilgrimage because that’s how it felt. At least that’s how I remember it. I suppose it’s one thing to run away but it’s another be pulled down the road by what feels like the hand of fate.”
- Philly band Good Old War has announced new tour dates and an anniversary vinyl re-issue of their debut album, Only Way To Be Alone.
