Welcome to the song of the day, where we feature a single track, whether its brand new or older than us, overlooked or overplayed, our favorite or no one’s favorite; as long as its interesting, it can be the song of the day.
After the members of British rock band Brinsley Shwarz went their separate ways following their sixth and final album, New Favorites of…Brinsley Shwarz, songwriter, bassist, and singer Nick Lowe embarked on a career as a solo artist, a songwriter, and a producer. He produced albums for Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Graham Parker, and the Damned, and released his own solo album in 1978 called Jesus of Cool. “Burning” was the lead track on Lowe’s third solo album, Nick the Knife. The album was self-produced and released in 1982. It was reissued by Yep Roc last year.
