Robyn’s first song in eight years, Jade Bird, and albums for the rest of the year

NPR’s First Listen is streaming the new album from Jason Eady right now. I Travel On is Eady’s seventh album and the first to feature the members of his touring band.

We haven’t heard much from Robyn since her 2010 breakthrough album Body Talk. Though this new song, “Missing U” sounds like the type of song that brought the Swedish star to the mainstream, she told the BBC that it sounds more like her old material than the rest of the new music will.

Here’s BBC 6 Music’s 50 albums to look forward to for the rest of the year, including new music from Christine and the Queens, Cat Power, and Kurt Vile. Some musicians with albums out later this year absent from this list that we’re looking for include Liz Cooper & The Stampede, Ruston Kelly, Joyce Manor, and Colter Wall.

Though there’s no official announcement yet, Jade Bird’s debut album will most likely land sometime this year, and just this week she released a new song called “Uh Huh.” “I wanted to record the song live with my band to capture that raw energy we have when we perform it on stage and I am so happy with the result,” she said announcing the song’s release.
