Welcome to the song of the day, where we feature a single track, whether its brand new or older than us, overlooked or overplayed, our favorite or no one’s favorite; as long as its interesting, it can be the song of the day.
The Olympics ended on Sunday, so today’s song is to help us ease out of that Olympic withdrawal. Pulled from Mikaela Shiffrin’s workout mix on Spotify, we’ve got “Lush Life” by Zara Larsson. The 22-year-old Coloradan won a gold and a silver in Pyeonchang to tie the all-time gold medal record for American alpine skiers. Larsson is a Swedish artist with two albums to her name, including last year’s So Good, which featured “Lush Life” as its lead single. In fact, it was released a full 21 months before the rest of the album, sneaking into the Billboard Top 40 in August of 2016.
