- Here’s a fan-shot Periscope video of Bruce Springsteen’s performance at the opening of the new Asbury Lanes. The Lanes, which were next door to where the old Fast Lane used to be, closed a few years ago and have now opened under new ownership completely renovated, complete with a sit-down diner, two bars, and some bowling lanes. Speaking of The Boss, his Broadway show has featured a locked-in set list of songs and speeches for the first 146 performances, but according to Greasy Lake, he switched it up last night to play “The Ghost of Tom Joad” and criticize the Trump administration’s inhumane immigration policies in its introduction.
- Last year, the ABC sitcom Black-ish did a musical episode devoted to Juneteenth, which served to educate people (like me) about the holiday celebrating the abolishment of slavery. Now, the show’s creator, Kenya Barris, and producer Peter Saji, are teaming with Pharrell to make a stage musical about Juneteenth.
