Somebody’s got a case of the Mondays. The Boomtown Rats were an Irish rock band in the 70s and 80s led by Bob Geldof. The song was a number one hit in the UK when it was released in 1979 from the band’s third album, The Fine Art of Surfacing. The song is about a 16-year-old who shot and killed two adults and injured eight children and a police officer in San Diego who, when pressed for an explanation, said that she didn’t like Mondays.
