Justin Vernon/Aaron Dessner collaboration announces album, Panic! covers Weezer, and more

Lori McKenna’s 11th album, The Tree, is officially out next week, but you can listen to it right now on NPR’s First Listen. Just like her last, 2016’s The Bird & The Rifle, the album was produced by Dave Cobb.

Big Red Machine, the new band formed by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner, has announced its first album, a self-titled collection of 11 songs out August 31.

CMT has the second single from Ruston Kelly’s upcoming debut Dying Star. The song, “Mockingbird,” which follows lead single “Jericho,” is accompanied by a music video directed by Stephen Kinigopoulos and Alexa King. Dying Star is due out September 7.

There’s some good stuff in this “soundtrack to my life” feature from Oscar Isaac in a recent NME issue:

Here’s Panic! at the Disco doing an acoustic Sirius XM cover of the Weezer song “Say It Ain’t So”:
